Suspenso [Suspense/Suspended]
Instability was a starting point with a series of small gestures that inquired what was the smallest possible transgression to an existing dynamic within the space that would still prove effective.
Banasta was a small gallery that exhibited contemporary art in the suburbs near Medellin, an affluent yet conservative part of the country where cultural consumption of that sort is near non-existing.
In this setting finding ways to interact with the outside meant a series of operations included apparently conventional paintings that had a performative component only visible online. An installation in the border between the gallery and the parking space beneath it. Mundane letters written to the few institutions that still send physical mail using their own cut out letters to respond, in order to make the message acquire the image of an anonymous threat, even though it had a perfectly readable sender.
